In 2023, I undertook an extensive kitchen makeover. I dismantled the old kitchen and installed a new one within two weeks, working with a tight budget of 10,000 DKK. Fortunately, I discovered a second-hand kitchen on DBA that I was able to modify and fit perfectly into its new space. Opting for a used kitchen not only saved costs but also aligned with my environmental values by reducing waste.
The original kitchen had several drawbacks, including drawers that wouldn't open and limited counter space, making it difficult to prepare meals. I envisioned a new kitchen layout that would enhance functionality, extend the counter space by 40cm, and provide ample room for kitchen appliances.
The renovation process was challenging yet rewarding. After removing the old setup, I meticulously adapted the pre-owned kitchen units to fit the designated area. This phase involved a lot of custom work, ensuring that every piece met my specific requirements for a more spacious and user-friendly kitchen.
Finalizing the installation of the new kitchen was an incredibly satisfying achievement. Despite a few minor setbacks, I successfully tailored a pre-loved kitchen to suit my apartment's aesthetics and functional needs. Working with MDF proved to be a delight, thanks to its versatility and finish. The end result is a kitchen that I absolutely adore, blending sustainability with style and practicality.
